CREATING SPACE WITH SOLAR
Creating Space with Solar was created as a prototype to demonstrate the potential power that could power a New Normal Australian Home in 2030 for 2 years. Carrying 68 x 260W solar panels, the pavilion will generate 56Kw/h per day, a total of 18,000Kw/h a year. Looking big picture, if all the rooftops in Greater Melbourne implemented a similar system, they could generate enough power to run 76% of the city leading us one step closer to a more sustainable future.
Pictured along with the pavilion is a public art piece called A New Response by Ash Keating Studio. The vibrant colours convey a visual map of the sunlight across the solar panels throughout the day.
